The Unanswered Prayers!

An unanswered prayer of a born-again child of God is a blessing in disguise.

Every child of God, born again and anointed by the Spirit of God, goes through the “Unanswered Prayers”. But, doesn’t the Bible say that the prayers of the children of God are answered?

Today, when I Prayed for what I should write in the blog and read the Bible, the spirit of God showed me this – “The Unanswered Prayers” and its significance.

Jesus took the form of a human being and came to earth. On the cross, when He was hanging there is a point where He shouts “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”' (Matthew 27:46).

When in pain every human being looks up to the divine for help through prayer. The answer to that prayer, in our expectation, is an immediate relief from the pain we are in. However, the Bible teaches us that some of our prayers at seemingly critical moments will not have an immediate answer.

When the pain doesn’t go away we may also ask God, “Why have you forsaken me?”.

If we read the book of Daniel, we see the 3 friends of Daniel – Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego on the verge of being thrown into a furnace that is 7 times hotter than usual. They are about to be punished for not obeying the King’s order to pay obeisance to an idol.

For a moment imagine yourself being tied up and being brought near such a hot furnace. Wouldn’t your heart cry out to God the Savior?

But in both the case of Jesus and Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego, we see the answer to their prayer in pain didn’t come immediately. Jesus died on the cross and the 3 friends fell into the furnace – a seeming moment of defeat – a moment of “Unanswered Prayers”.

But the Bible says – Jesus is lifted up to the right Hand of God and rulership has been ordained on Him. The three friends, who had become governors because of Daniel’s recommendation are now lifted up by the King for no other God can save from the fire as the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Dear Child of God, if you are in a distressing pain and there seems to be no answer to your prayers – Hang on. Do not distrust God. Do not loose faith on Jesus. He is Faithful. The ever merciful Jesus has bigger plans for you than the answers that you seek now.

Praise the Lord.

Glory be to Jesus.
