The Path to Happiness and Blessings

Are worldly blessings the true blessings for a child of God?

“But Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” says Jesus in Matthew 6:33. He continues by saying ” and all these things will be added to you”. In the verses preceding this, Jesus says “Your heavenly Father, knows that you need all these things”. The “things” that Jesus mentions here are Food, Drink & Clothing. In verse 25, He begins by saying “Do not worry about your life.”

The words in the Bible are true because they are the Holy word from the Lord.

The problem with many of us today is we worry about the things God has instructed clearly stating - I Know you need them & I will provide them. The key word here is “worry”.

As I was reading the Bible today a few words of the psalmists reminded me of the “Happiness”, that every one of us seeks. We seek happiness but fill our hearts with worry. Doesn’t that sound foolish on our part?

Psalms 4:7 - 8 “You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety”

Psalms 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”

The Bible shows us the path to happiness and the place of eternal happiness.

The Christian world today believes that worldly needs and pleasures are” blessings”. There are Prayer meetings called “Blessings Prayer Meetings”. They are blessings indeed, but temporary and these will flow in from the Lord freely and abundantly when you seek the permanent blessings. These are the blessings that Jesus says “All these things will be added to you”.

The people who do not trust and believe in Jesus also have “all these things” in abundance. But the difference when it flows from God to a God-fearing child, who seeks after the Kingdom of God and His righteousness is that they will have gladness in the heart, and peaceful sleep at night. The non-believer has the goods with fear of losing it, while the believer has the goods with peace and happiness and no worry of losing it.

So what is seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?

The Kingdom of God is the Heavenly abode where Jesus will rule over His people. The place where there will be no crying, no sorrow but fullness of Joy.

What is His righteousness?

These words have very deep and broad meaning. The Bible says in Matthew 3:15 'But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.'

Water Baptism is the righteousness. But Water Baptism is not just the act of being immersed in water and taken out. When a child of God is Baptized, it means he/she is dead to the world and risen in Christ”. This means the child of God has decided to set foot on the path to the Kingdom of God and being dead to sin is purified by the Blood of the Lamb. The Bible says in Revelations 21:27 'But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.' It's a renewed covenant between God and Man; By God to take the Man into heaven and by Man to be faithful to God for the rest of his/her earthly life.

The Bible says in John 3:5 'Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. '

The first part is Baptism by water, and the second is by the Spirit. So, what is “Being reborn by the spirit”?

The Bible talks about the Bride of Christ as a Church. Although some church denominations claim they are the bride of Christ, there is no evidence of their claim in the Bible.

 The Church that will be the bride of Christ, is a union of many people. Just like our body has many parts, the people who are born again by water and the spirit come from various races, ethnicities & countries united by 1 spirit – That is the Holy Spirit.

So in conclusion, for anybody to receive the ultimate gift / Blessing of the Heavenly entry one needs to receive two more blessings while on earth. The first one is Deliverance from sin, which brings amazing Joy and being made one with the Bride of Jesus by being Baptized by the Holy Spirit which brings Joy and Power.

So, seek ye first the Kingdom of God & His Righteousness and stop worrying about “and all these things will be added to you”. When you are on this path your hearts will be filled with Joy, as you will constantly seek Jesus. You will not need to worry anymore about worldly needs. You can Pray for them, but no more will you worry about them, because your heavenly Father Knows you need them beforehand.
