Matthew 18:3
“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. “
Today in the morning when I was waking up after snoozing the alarm a couple of times, I was prompted by the Spirit of God as to think on why I wake up early to pray. The Holy Spirit also planted the thought as to why one should. As I woke up and started praying, my thoughts were flooded by the above verse.
Then I remembered how my daughter when she was much younger – a toddler, would just come rushing to meet me when I came back from work. Not expecting if I had bought a toy for her. Not expecting if I got some toffees. No. But just being joyful for me being there. Wanting to be just lifted and hugged. Then in a bit, she would want to get down and go back to playing with her toys etc. And if she even senses I was going out again, she will just rush back. Kids would all do that with either parent who has gone away for a few hours.
So do we seek God with the child like innocence, who Jesus said we should all become like. Do we kneel or sit in prayer and start pouring out our grief, or fears, our needs like a petition list? Or do we kneel just to enjoy His loving and all-powerful presence? The kids don’t worry about food or any other material need – They know their parents will provide it to them at the right time.
The Heavenly Father also says in Matthew 6:32-33 'For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. '
So, if you are a child of God, you will seek God not for your needs but seek Him for who He is and will have immense faith in your needs being met at the appointed time. You will just be happy to be in His presence, even when there is a storm in your life. Let’s strive with the help of His Amazing Grace to become like children and enter the Kingdom of God.
Praise the Lord.
Glory to Jesus.
